We're back!

Good morning {name},

Here it is again, the regular mail from your Dutch Association Chiang Mai.

The drinks reception on Friday, July 25, was well-attended once again and, in our opinion as driving forces within your association, enjoyable. Below is a brief overview.

Building on this, the next Friday afternoon drinks are on August 22nd. Naturally, starting around 5 o'clock again. This time, The European Chiang Mai is making itself available for this get-together. Of course, the snacks will also be provided by this company. We look forward to seeing you all there, as there are various things to discuss entirely without obligation during this gathering.

Consider, for example, the upcoming puzzle rally. It is scheduled for September 13th. Register yourself, your family, group of friends, or you as an individual via the button below!

Since there are cars with 2 or 3 participants, individuals can simply hop into the cars of other participants. The more people in a car, the more power and knowledge, and consequently the chance to win this prestigious puzzle rally. We don't live in Beautiful Chiang Mai for nothing... Please do keep in mind that there can be a maximum of 4 participants per car. If you or your family do not own a car, they are readily available for rent. Just let the organizers know.
As it currently looks, participants from other NVTs will also be attending. Think of the NVTPattaya, for example, and NVT Hua Hin and Bangkok. Sign up.
In the meantime, The European Chiang Mai is already busy planning your hot and cold buffet! The awards ceremony will take place there on the Saturday evening afterwards, followed by a small party.

In the meantime, your NVTCM is already hard at work planning for the remainder of 2025. December will be here before you know it.

One of the things planned for the remainder of the year is a presentation regarding inheritances and other legal matters that you, as a Dutch national residing outside the Netherlands for an extended period, should take into account. We are in contact with a notary in the Netherlands and a lawyer in Thailand who know the ins and outs of this subject matter. Keep an eye on your mailbox. We, Jord, Pim, Ilona, and Bertil, as the driving forces behind your NVTCM, will keep you informed. In any case, the date has already been set: October 17.

The NVTCM is also looking for golfers. Handicap does not matter. Just players who want to play a round once a week, or once every 2 to 3 weeks. As an association, we would like to see if we can set up a team or organize a tournament in the future. A simple email or a message in the group chat would be greatly appreciated. In any case, a number of members will be playing at Lana Golf again this coming week. Join us!

Should you, as a member, be thinking that this might be something for you—contributing ideas, organizing, etc.—a so-called general meeting is planned for 2026. Since we currently have around 30 members, it might be wise to introduce some structure within your NVTCM. We will, of course, keep you informed about this as well.

It remains for us to wish you all a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you on August 22nd at our monthly drinks.
